Roxbury Township, Mr. William J Wiedmuller, 88, died on October 11, 2014 at his home. He was born and raised in Jersey City and moved to Succasunna 52 years ago. He served in the U S Army Air Force as a radio operator during WW II in India and China. He then earned his B S degree in Mathematics from Seton Hall University and began working at Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway Township as a mechanical engineer for 28 years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna and was a 50 year member and past president of the Toast Master’s at Picatinny. He was also an avid reader and loved music.
He is survived by his wife Ursula E of 60 years, and by his 5 children; Robert W Wiedmuller of Mt Arlington, Ursula M (and Dennis) VanEmburg of Budd Lake, Karen (and Ian) Showell of Hackettstown, William (and Lisa) Wiedmuller of S.C., and Mary E (and Michael) Knierim of CA. He also leaves his 2 sisters Doris DePaula of OK, and Peggy Ryan of Lake Hiawatha, and 8 grandchildren; Ryan, Krista, William, and Brandon VanEmburg, Andrew and Julia Wiedmuller, and Connor and Catherine Knierim.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Wednesday from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, 10 am, at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna with the interment to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
