Somerset, NJ   Mrs. Phyllis Gloria Cooper, 80, died on December 31, 2017 at the Willow Creek Center in Somerset after a courageous battle with dementia which she fought to the end. She was born in Trenton and lived in Frankford Township and Succasunna for 33 years, before moving to Somerset. Mrs. Cooper was a member of St. Therese RC Catholic Church.

A 1955 graduate of Newton High School, Mrs. Cooper worked for several companies before she retired.  She loved to read, paint and sculpt.

Mrs. Cooper was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Pauline Kucinski, her first husband, Theron B. Hyatt and her brother Alfred Kucinski.

She is survived by her daughter Donna (James) Donovan, her son Dale (Donna) Hyatt; three grandchildren Laura (Kyle) Nale, Benjamin Hyatt, Aaron Hyatt and a great granddaughter, Leah Nale.  Ms. Cooper also leaves behind a sister, Alice Kelly and a brother, Paul Blake.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264    (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, 10 am at St. Therese R C Church, 155 Main Street, Succasunna, with the interment to follow at the Holy Rood Cemetery, 91 Maple Ave., Morristown. Donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
