Phillip D’Ottavio

Phillip Dominic D’Ottavio, 65 of Mine Hill, NJ died suddenly at home. Born in Dover, he lived most of his life in Roxbury Township. He was a 1971 graduate of Roxbury High School where he excelled at football. Growing up he played little league baseball for the American Legion, and the Roxbury Colts Midget Football Program. Phil was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed bass fishing, making fishing lures, and hunting, specializing in New Jersey whitetail deer. He also enjoyed bodybuilding and coached football as an assistant coach at Morris Catholic HS in Denville NJ from 1974-1976.He was predeceased by infant sister Lonea, Parents John L. D’Ottavio and Yolanda A. (Tardive) D’Ottavio.

He is survived by a son, Phillip D’Ottavio Jr of Escondito CA. Also survived by brothers John (Skeets) D’Ottavio, Nick D’Ottavio and wife Cindy of Hackettstown NJ, Victor D’Ottavio of Tuscaloosa AL, and Bill D’Ottavio of Pelham AL, sister Donna Scarnulis of Saylorsburg PA, and several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday at 10 am, at St Therese R C Church, with the interment to follow at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ  973-584-7264  (davishepplewhitefh.com)
