Randolph, Mr. Paul A Johnson, 92, died on December 27, 2013 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. He was born in Randolph where he lived all of his life. He was a graduate of Dover High School where he played football and baseball. He then joined the U S Army during WW II. He worked as a machinist and manager at Picatinny Arsenal for 42 years before his retirement in 1981. He attended the Mt. Freedom Presbyterian Church, loved sports, gardening, hunting, and “engineering” many things.
He is survived by his wife Ruth (Cannata) of 71 years, children; Carol J (and Mike) Smyth of Mt. Freedom and The Rev David H (and Barbara) Johnson of Manlius, NY, sisters and brother; Mae Greengrass of Flanders, Wallace Johnson of VA, and Anna Johnson of Randolph, 3 grandchildren; Kelly S Moyes of Randolph, Kathleen M White of Washington Township, and A Ping Johnson of Manlius, NY, great grandson Paul W Bender of Morristown, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Monday from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, 10 am at the Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at the Mt. Freedom Presbyterian Cemetery. Donations may be made in his name to the charity of your choice.
