Patricia A. Carroll

Hopatcong, NJ. It is with heavy hearts that we share that Patricia A. Carroll, 70, passed away after a short illness on September 27, 2023 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover with loved ones at her side. She was born in Buffalo, NY and remained a faithful Bills fan her entire life. Patti grew up in Chester, NJ and graduated from West Morris High School. She shares two children with her first husband Steve, Heather A. (Kelmer) Maurer of Portage, MI and Stephen J. Kelmer, Jr. of Mt. Arlington, NJ. 

Patti raised her children in Succasunna and Hopatcong, NJ. She was a career banker and retired as a Vice President with Santander bank. Over the years, Patti had many interests including hosting Sunday football watch parties, weekly dart league, taking trips and cruises with friends, spending time with family, boating, and volunteering with local organizations. Patti was a dedicated member of the Jefferson Rotary club and the Lake Hopatcong Elks. She donated her time and talents in many capacities, especially anything benefitting local children. Her sunny smile and generous spirit will be fondly remembered.

Patti was preceded in death by her father Frank R. Carroll, Sr., her mother Shirley J. (Kelly) Carroll, and her brother Frank R. Carroll, Jr.  She is survived by her children Heather (husband Mitch) and Stephen (wife Brielle) and grandchildren Jack Kelmer and Gabriel, Amelia and Alexis Maurer. She also leaves behind her brother Kelly S. Carroll, Sr., sister-in-law Maryann (Perrone) Carroll, nephews Kelly S. Carroll, Jr., Andrew Carroll, Robert Smith, and nieces Jennifer Smith and Jessica Carroll. 

A celebration of life is scheduled for January 6, 2024 on what would have been Patti’s 71st birthday. A reception will be held from 12-4pm at the Lake Hopatcong Elks, 201 Howard Boulevard, Mt. Arlington, NJ 07856

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patti’s name to the Lake Hopatcong Elks and/or Rotary of Jefferson P.O. Box 2198 Oak Ridge, NJ 07438. Funds will be used to support and assist the children’s programs Patti had dedicated herself to.
