Roxbury Township, Mrs. Norma Roldan died on January 24, 2018 at Merry Heart in Succasunna at the age of 95. She struggled with Alzheimer’s Disease for more than 5 years. She lived most of her life on the upper west side of Manhattan, NY. She worked as a private duty nurse before she retired. Norma moved to N J at the age of 91 to be near her daughter. She delighted in telling stories about the past. She also enjoyed dancing at Roseland Ballroom on Sunday afternoons and reading the N Y Daily News newspaper and biographies. She loved chocolate, wearing French berets, red lipstick and a glass of red wine in the evening.

Norma had a great empathy for human suffering, and almost at the end of her life, she embraced her ancestral roots. Predeceased by her husband Robert, she leaves her devoted daughter, Sondra and a daughter in Brazil. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to all those at Merry Heart who cared for her through the years. Thanks also to the Compassus Hospice.
