Lords Valley, PA       Mrs. Lydia Lucas, 90, died on April 11, 2011 at home in Lords Valley, PA. She was born in Kearny and lived in Succasunna for 45 years before moving to Hemlock Farms, PA, 7 years ago, and became a member of the Church of the Good Shepard, in Milford, PA . She was an executive secretary for the Clay Adams Medical Company in Parsippany for 16 years. She was a 45 year member of St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Succasunna and Church Altar Guild, and received their David Paul Hegg II Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003.

She was predeceased by her husband Harold L Lucas, of 59 years, in 2000 and was the daughter of the late Lydia Higgins and Frank Rutzler. She is survived by her 3 children; Carole Peterson of Madison, NH, Ronald Lucas of Lords Valley, PA, and Glen Lucas of Mitchell, SD, 3 grandchildren; Robert and Todd Peterson and Dawn Vanderhoof, and 4 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna, NJ (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com, on Thursday from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9  pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 10 am, with the interment to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
