Mt. Arlington –  Mr. Joseph Francis Dodd, Sr., 86, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, he was born and raised in Paterson.  Joe proudly built the house where the family resided in Oakland for 37 years before moving to Mt. Arlington. He served in the U S Marine Corps during WW II and became a member of the Oakland American Legion Post. He was a retired Lieutenant for the Bergen County Prosecutors Office in Hackensack and a past President of the New Jersey P B A. He also received many awards for his pistol marksmanship.

 He is survived by his wife Rose-Marie (Steiner) of 67 years, 3 children; Barbara (and Glenn) Kuffel of Oakland, Pat (and Ray) Ryan of Morganville, and Joseph F (and Sue) Dodd, Jr., of Succasunna, and son-in-law Richard Limpert of SC. He also leaves his  7 grandchildren; Mitch, Melissa, Jeffrey, Alex, Kimberly, Jaci and Stephanie as well as 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Dolores Limpert in March (2012) and his grandson Gregory Dodd in 2005.

 Friends may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com on Sunday, August 5 from 2-5 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 6, 11 am at the Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
