James W Kunz

Roxbury Township,  Mr. James “Jim” William Kunz, 65, died on June 9, 2013 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover surrounded by his beloved family and friends. He was born and raised in Jersey City. He earned his B S Degree from St. Peter’s College in Jersey City and then attended Steven’s Institute in Newark for his degree in Electrical Engineering. He retired from A T & T in Bedminster as an Electrical Engineer where he worked for more than 35 years, becoming a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was an active member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna, also volunteering at the Church and School. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting but enjoyed being with his family most of all. Out of all of his lifetime accomplishments, he was most proud of  his family for whom he lived every moment.

He is survived by his wife, Janet M (Kochenash) after 44 years of marriage, two daughters, Jennifer Kunz and Dana Benson, two granddaughters, Taylor and Nicole Benson, son- in-law, Matt Benson and Jennifer’s fiancé, Mike Otnisky, brother, Alexander Kunz and his wife Regina and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday from 4 – 8 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, 10 am, at St Therese R C Church, with the interment to follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
