Roxbury Township,    Mrs. Irene A Dempsey, 89, died on October 5, 2011 at the Holly Manor Nursing Home in Mendham. She was born and raised in Manhattan and lived in Dix Hills, (L I), NY for 30 years before moving to Ledgewood 15 years ago. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing Mahjong with friends and taking care of all of her family.

She is survived by her husband Jack Dempsey, of 61 years, her 4 children; Brian of Boca Raton, FL, Leslie Marchese of Basking Ridge, Keith of Randolph, and Craig of East Islip, LI, and 9 grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Evelyn Solomon, sister-in-law Grace Dempsey, and nephew Richard Rayman, of Long Island. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Rayman, of L I, in 2007.
