Roxbury Township, Mrs. Ilona “Lonnie” Karen Toohey, 66, died on October 10, 2015 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. She was born and raised in Elizabeth and moved to Roxbury Township 38 years ago. She was an Admin Assistant for Levalor Home Fashions Company in Rockaway and previously worked for the Roxbury Township Board of Education at the Eisenhower School. She attended the Succasunna First Presbyterian Church. Lonnie also volunteered at the CASA of Morris County and at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover in the Pulmonary Rehab Center, as she herself was a lung transplant recipient on November 25, 2002 through the Gift of Life, in PA.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Michael D Toohey,Jr, Daughter and Son-in-Law Karyn (Georgaros) and Keith Brodman, and Granddaughter Lindsay Kathryn Brodman all of Rockaway Township, and Son David Michael Georgaros of Roxbury Township. She also leaves her Stepdaughters Jamie W. Toohey and Jessica Lee Toohey, both of Allentown, PA. She was one of 8 children and is survived by her sisters: Eileen Joyce Sabat, Peggy Ann Dombrauskas, and Dorene Nola Arritula Covell. She was predeceased by siblings: John William Dombrauskas, Jr, Helen “Honey” Dorthea Mason, Joseph Thomas Dombrauskas and, Richard Francis Dombrauskas.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, 11 am, at the Succasunna First Presbyterian Church, 99 Main St, Succasunna.
