Denville, NJ Mr. Harold Francis Stoner, Jr., 91, died on April 2, 2020 at The Oaks in Denville. He was born in Orange, NJ and grew up in West Orange. He later lived in Succasunna for many years before moving to The Oaks in Denville 2 years ago. He served in the U S Army during the Korean War and continued in the Army National Guard for many more years. He was a retired machinist at the Flanders Tool & Die Company in Flanders.
He was predeceased by his first wife Ruth “Peggy” Stoner in 1978 and is survived by his wife Ilse Stoner of 35 years. He also leaves his 6 children; Lynn (and Bob) Klein of Harleysville, PA, Shirley (and Jim) Lawson of Green Village, Carol Carson of Hackettstown, Bobby (and Jill) Stoner of Lake Hopatcong, Janet (and Fred) Saunders of Marshalls Creek, PA, and Ronnie (and Terri) Stoner of NC, 2 step-daughters; Luise (and Betsy) Neilson of Maplewood, and Vickie (and Pam) Neilson-Papish of Pleasantville, NY. He also leaves his 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Arrangements are by the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com). The service is private with the burial at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery.
