Hopatcong,  Mrs. Gertrude J De Perna, 91, died on November 29, 2013 at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Succasunna. She was born in New York City and lived in Brooklyn before moving to Hopatcong 48 years ago. She was a homemaker, an avid reader, and studied nutrition.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 2005 and is survived by her son Jim (and Melissa) De Perna of Randolph, 2 grandchildren; Jared and Ava of Randolph, and sister Gloria (and Michael) Fabrizio of Massapequa, L I.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Sunday from 3 – 5 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, 11 am at the Funeral Home, with the entombment to follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
