Gerard Curtin

Mt. Arlington, Gerard “Gerry” Curtin passed away on January 26, 2013 at the Morristown Medical Center.  He was 82 years old.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church is Succasunna.  Gerry was born and raised in Brooklyn, graduating from Brooklyn Prep in 1949.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and attended college at Hofstra University.  Gerry lived in Livingston for 15 years before moving to Lake Rogerine, Mt. Arlington where he lived for the past 40 years.  He served on the Mt. Arlington Town Council from 1977 to 1982.  Gerry spent the winter in Lake Worth, Florida where he sang in the church choir.  Gerry was an industrial engineer having worked at numerous companies including Allied Chemical and Best Foods.  

He is survived by his wife, Pat (Rousch), to whom he was married for 39 years, five children: Michael Curtin, Sherry Varrelman, Kevin McCarthy, Tricia Munley, Sean McCarthy, sister Bunny Leonard, 13 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.  He was predeceased by his son, Peter John, in 1991.  Gerry’s gregarious nature touched the lives of so many people and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
