Frank D Valentine

Frank. D. Valentine died at home, peacefully in his sleep, on March 21, 2019 . Frank, the son of William and Eleanora Valentine , was born and raised in Roxbury, N.J.and Graduated from Roxbury High School in 1956. Frank then served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 – 1958,.Frank was given the Special Assignment of Sea Duty in the Atlantic fleet where he served on the Honor Guard of the USS North Hampton.

After being Honorably Discharged from the Marine Corps as a Corporal he took a position as Patrolman with the Wharton Police Department , serving from 1958 -1962.

While he served the town of Wharton , he met and married his caring wife of 59 years and mother of his children, Joan Dabb, they raised two Sons Frank Valentine Jr. and Brian Valentine.

Frank then  joined the Mountain Lakes Police Department in 1962 and retired in 1987 as a Lieutenant. Frank made many friends during his career and did his best to mentor many young men. Frank, as nature intended , was predeceased by his parents William in 1958 and Eleanora in 1992. Frank , the youngest of his siblings was also predeceased by his six brothers and sisters, Shirley Goerner, Rawson Valentine, Jeanne Chapman, Mary Seals, Charles Valentine and Rene Valentine.  Frank , sadly, was predeceased by his son Frank Jr. in 2010.

Surviving and living forever in his heart, is his wife Joan, his son, Brian, and Daughter in law Doreen Valentine and his two Grandchildren; Daniel and Ryan Valentine. Also surviving and loved by Frank, and who all generously helped him in his later years, his nephews Michael and Thomas Dabb, his nephew Kevin Valentine, and his sister in law, Joan Valentine.

Friends and family may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ  973-584-7264  (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Tuesday, from  4 – 7 pm. A Memorial Service, with Military Honors, will be held at 7 pm. Donations may be made in his name to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, at www.mc-lef.org
