Roxbury Township, Charles T. Kline, 77, died on February 1, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Newark, NJ, grew up in Jefferson Township and moved to Roxbury Township in 1961. Mr. Kline was a retired SFC in the U.S. Army Reserves and the New Jersey National Guard and was employed by Picatinny Arsenal. He was a member of Mine Hill American Legion Post #391 and Kenvil VFW Post #2833. Mr. Kline was a lifetime member of the NJ State Exempt Firemen’s Association and a lifetime member of the NJ State Firemen’s Association. He served 51 years as a volunteer fireman for Roxbury Township Fire Company #2, and served as Roxbury Township’s Fire Chief in 1976. He was a member of the NJ State Fire Chiefs Assoc., Morris County Fire Chiefs Assoc., and held the position of Sergeant at Arms at the annual NJ State Firemen’s Association Convention. Mr. Kline was a member of Musconetcong Masonic Lodge No. 42, the Shriners Int’l, Knights Templar, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Elks and Moose organizations.
He is survived by his five daughters, Shirley, Robin, Dale, Linda and Karla, two grandchildren, James and Emma Grace, a brother, Gene, and two nephews, Keith and Scott.
