Betty and William raised 4 children-Douglas, Janet, Donna and Scott, losing Janet to pneumonia at the age of 3.  Betty was smart, athletic and a good friend and Mother.  She always put her children’s education first and supported them in all their after school activities: softball, soccer, basketball, wrestling, swim meet, band practice and Sunday school.  The eternal educator, college was never an option, it was a requirement. Betty was always active in her neighborhood, from the rummage sales with the Sunrise Park Sewing Club to the Bridge, Canasta, Mah Jong and Poker she loved to play with dear friends at Fox Hills in Rockaway, her home for twelve years.

Losing William in April of 2006, Betty never gave up or stopped living.  Betty’s loved ones surrounded her.  Betty kept busy by helping her children and enjoying her grandchildren.  Betty was a diehard Mets & Giants fan and rarely missed a game.  Betty was friend to all she met.  She loved going to Harrah’s in Atlantic City and enjoying Sunday breakfast at Townsquare Diner every week with her children or friends.  Betty finished the NY Times crossword puzzle every Sunday until a week ago.
