Roxbury Township, Mrs. Anna Theresa Zavatski died on January 26, 2017 at the Paragon Village in Mt. Olive Township. She was born in Nanticoke, PA and lived in Succasunna for many years before moving to Paragon Village 3 years ago. She was a cafeteria worker at the Eisenhower Middle School in Roxbury Township for more than 30 years. She often spoke of the hundreds of children whose lives she touched at the schools. She also loved watching all her grandchildren playing sports, and was a member of St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna.
She was predeceased by her husband Henry Zavatski in 2002, and by her 6 brothers and a sister. She is survived by her 2 daughters; Mariann (and Bruce) Smith of Hackettstown and Patricia (and Joseph) Gentile of Blackwood, NJ. She also leaves her 2 sisters; Henrietta Romanowski of Wilmington. DE and Marie Yandrofski of Nanticoke, PA, 4 grandchildren; Lisa Hughes, Marc Smith, Eric Gentile, and Brent Gentile, and 3 great grandchildren; Alexis Hughes, Camryn Hughes, and Aiden Gentile.
Friends may visit at Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264(davishepplewhitefh.com) on Saturday from 1 – 3 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm at the Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover at a later date. Donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
