Randolph, NJ Mrs. Anna Yorke, 92, died on January 26, 2012 at the Morristown Medical Center. She was born and raised in Brooklyn and lived in Salisbury, NY before moving to Randolph, 22 years ago. She was a life member of the Randolph Fire Co #4, Ironia, Ladies Auxiliary, the Randolph Senior Citizens Club, and did a lot of volunteer work for Randolph Township. Anna loved life and all that it had to offer. She was a hard worker, always helpful to others and family. She enjoyed singing, telling stories, having fun, and she was always proud of her family. She was affectionately known as “Nanny Pooh”.
She was predeceased by her husband Willard L. Yorke in 1970 and by her Daughter Sharon D. Kieffer on December 13th, 2011. She is survived by her 3 children; Deanna (and Sal) Scarpa of Randolph, John L. (and Janice) Yorke of Wantage Twp, and Leon W. (and Susan) Yorke of North Port, FL, sister Loretta Kappal of Lanesville, NY, son-in-law; Robert Kieffer of Slatington, PA, 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandsons.
Friends may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com on Sunday from 2 – 5 and 7 – 9 pm, and on Monday from 12 – 1:30 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, 2 pm at St Matthew the Apostle Parish, 335 Dover Chester Road, Randolph, NJ. Donations may be made in her name, through her family.
