Anita M Dillon

Mt. Arlington, NJ.   Mrs. Anita Marie Dillon, 87, died on November 6, 2023, at the Morristown Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Jersey City and lived in Flanders before moving to Mt. Arlington 30 years ago. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in education from the College of St. Elizabeth and became an Elementary School Teacher for the Diocese of Paterson for 34 years. She was a teacher at Saint Michael’s School in Netcong and Saint Therese School in Succasunna. She was also a founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Flanders and a Eucharistic Minister and member of St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna. Anita was a CCD teacher for various parishes for over 50 years.

She was also a member of the College of St. Elizabeth Alumni, the Columbiettes Queen of the Lakes Council # 5114, the Morris County Retirees Education Association, and the Mt. Arlington Seniors.

She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Thomas J Dillon Sr. in 1992, daughter Toni Ann Dillon in 2014, and by her brother Anthony Baragona and sister Catherine Egan. She is survived by 5 children: Thomas (and Linda) Dillon of Texas, Timothy (and Joan) Dillon of Alaska, Bryan (and Kathy) of Arizona, Bruce (and Dr. Barbara) Dillon of New Jersey, and Colleen (and Gene) Rutzler of Maryland. She also leaves her grandchildren: Matthew, Courtney, Nicholas, Jonathan, Patrick, Aaron, Kyle, Zachary, Christina, Brendan, MaryAnn, and MadaLynne, and great grandchildren: Colin, Lily, Charlie, and Henry.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 10 am, at St. Therese R C Church, in Succasunna.
