Roxbury Township: Charles Albert Geiger, 60, died on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Morristown Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Teaneck and grew up in Bergen County before moving to Succasunna 27 years ago. He attended the University of Alaska and earned his BA from William Paterson University. He was a member of St. Therese RC Church in Succasunna.
Charlie had a distinguished career in commercial and corporate aviation. He began his career with Pan Am in the 70’s at Teterboro Airport and later at JFK. He continued his career in corporate aviation at Falcon Jet, Teterboro and Warner Lambert in Morristown. Most recently Charlie was Vice President of Business and Operations for American Express in Newburgh, NY. Charlie was a supporter of the Corporate Angels Network responsible for flying children and their families to medical facilities across the country. He was recently awarded the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Silk Scarf Award, given to individuals for special contributions to the business aviation community during their careers
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Josephine (Latrenta) Geiger; sons Christopher and Daniel; sisters Maureen (and Michael) Martin of Parsippany and Karen (and Hans) Heydorn of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Friday from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, 9:30 AM, at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel RC Church in Cedar Knolls. The interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saddle Brook.
