Roxbury Township, Mrs. Waltraud “Sandy” DiGiorgio, 78, died on January 29, 2019 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. She was born in Ansbach, Germany and came to the United States in February, 1962 to Muskegon, MI. She moved to Roxbury Township 23 years ago.
An amazingly resilient and extraordinary woman, she wore many hats in her life: a bookkeeper for her husband’s companies, then later an insurance administrator for Allstate. But the ones she cherished the most was being mother to her sons and partner to her late husband. She loved to cook for everyone and wouldn’t take “no” for an answer when she asked if you were hungry. Later in life, she found she greatly enjoyed watching and talking politics.
She was predeceased by her husband Constantino D. DiGiorgio in 2003, and is survived by her sons: Marc (and Patty) DiGiorgio of Succasunna and Dean (and Kimberle) DiGiorgio of Ft. Pierce, FL., granddaughters: Briana of Philadelphia and Danielle of Succasunna, and sisters: Sigrun Schroll and Lilo Dossler, both in Germany.
Private arrangements are by the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com)
