Mr. Vincent A. DiMatteo III, 56, died suddenly on March 16, 2013 at St. Claire’s Hospital, Dover. He was born on April 1, 1956 in Passaic and lived in Fair Lawn and Succasunna for 30 years before moving to Morris Plains 18 years ago. He was a 1974 graduate of Roxbury High School and then earned his BA in Political Science at William Patterson University. More recently he had been pursuing his teacher’s certification. Early in his career, Mr. DiMatteo worked at UPS and then accepted a position at Staples in Secaucas, formerly Corporate Express. He was with the company for 29 years and was promoted to Lead Associate.
Vincent was the son of the late Theresa Antoinette (Soldinski) and Vincent Anthony DiMatteo Jr. Vincent was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He is survived by his twin sisters Donna Secola and her husband Chris of Berkshire Valley, and Denise DiMatteo of Lake Hopatcong, twin nephew and niece Billy and Kelly Secola, his dear aunt and godmother Gloria Sadowski of Hunlock Creek, PA, and many wonderful cousins, of whom he was very fond. He also leaves behind his dear friend Monique Brodie and neighbor Barbara Brodie.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, (973-584-7264) www.davishepplewhitefh.com on Wednesday from 4-8pm. The service will be held on Thursday at 11am at the Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery. Donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
