Hackettstown, NJ. Mr. Thomas Austin “Tim” Nairn, 75, died peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side, on April 17, 2022. He was born in Newark, N.J. and grew up in Randolph N.J., graduating from Morris Catholic High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army in Kornwestheim, Germany and later served as an army reservist. He moved to Hackettstown, N.J. 24 years ago. He was a retired batchmaker for USROptonix in Hackettstown for 45 years, and later at Barr/Pliva/Teva Pharmaceuticals and Parker Labs. He loved cars, motorcycles, and radio-controlled vehicles. He was a founding member of an amateur radio-controlled car club named Saturday Night at Nairn Raceway.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Joan Marie (Evans) Nairn. He is also survived by his children Tricia Nairn, Debbie Pearson and Michelle Lyons of Florida, James Nairn of Texas, Ashley Nairn of Georgia, and stepchildren Erika Hanlon and Joseph Waldinger as well as eleven grandchildren. His is also survived by his sister Sharon (Gene) Gilligan of Hope, NJ.
Friends and relatives may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 4 – 8 pm. The Funeral Liturgy is being held on Friday at 10 am, at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna, with Military Honors. Entombment will follow at the Restland Memorial Park Cemetery in East Hanover.
