Rose A Weins

Roxbury Township, Mrs. Rose A. Weins, 80, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2023 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover. She was born and raised in Queens, NY and moved to Succasunna 53 years ago with her husband and children.

She was a retired preschool teacher at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Preschool and was a dedicated and beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She hosted many holiday get togethers and backyard BBQ’s with her children, and grandchildren. She was an avid baker, and each Christmas she would bake elaborate cookie trays and distribute them to her friends and neighbors. She also loved spending time with her girlfriends, going to lunch or shopping, or listening to her favorite singer Elvis. Her Christian faith was very important to her, and for a time she hosted weekly prayer groups at her home with her many friends.

She is survived by her husband Norman J Weins, of 58 years, and by her children: Darren N (and his girlfriend Janine Barone) Weins of Succasunna and Laura Rose (and Charles) Smouse of Chalfont, PA. She also leaves her twin grandchildren: Caden Smouse and Isabella Smouse, and sister Carol (and Andrew) Edenbaum of CA.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ (973)-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Friday, March 3rd, from 5 – 8 pm. The Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, 10 am, followed by the interment at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester
