Roxbury Township, Mrs. Rita Maria Coakley, 72, died on November 14, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Newark and moved to Succasunna 38 years ago. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kean College in 1967, and was an Elementary teacher in Roxbury Township for 27 years, most recently at the Lincoln Roosevelt School. She was a member of St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna, the NJEA, and loved reading at the Jersey Shore.

She is survived by her husband Leo J Coakley of 49 years, children; Michael J Coakley , Jenn (and Chuck) Nino, 7 grandchildren; Taylor, Mackenzie, Cailyn, Ryleigh, Charlie, Ella, and Finnegan. She also leaves her sister Sandra (and William) DeMassi, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264    (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday from 3 – 8 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, 10 am at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna, with the interment to follow at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery.
