Roxbury Township, Richard “Dick” F. Smith, 77, died on June 6, 2013 at his home. “Smitty” was born in Moscow, PA and moved to Roxbury Township 55 years ago. He served in the U S Army from 1955-1959, stationed in Ft. Richardson, Alaska. He worked for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad, Houdaille Construction Materials and County Concrete as a Quality Inspector and Concrete Engineer. He was an active member of the Succasunna United Methodist Church, and member of the Moscow, PA Masonic Lodge F & A M.
He was predeceased by his wife Geraldine (Kischak) of 52 years, in 2009. He is survived by four children; Richard (and Margaret) Smith of Randolph, Jerilyn (and Matthew) Zeleski of Quakertown, PA, Jadine (and Michael) Stephan of Pottersville, and Kyle (and Pamela) Smith of Succasunna. He also leaves five grandchildren; Richard Justin, Benjamin, Douglas, Anna, and Corey, and sister-in-law Stephanie Kischak of Succasunna.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Sunday from 2 – 6 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, 11 am, at the Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester. Donations may be made in his name to the Succasunna United Methodist Church.
