Roxbury Twp: Mr. John Pallotta, 86, passed away on February 3, 2017 at the House Of The Good Shepherd in Hackettstown NJ. John was born in Paterson and moved to Succasunna 55 years ago. He served in the U S Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a 1959 graduate from the N J State Troopers Academy in Seagirt and became a Commander in Somerville, Netcong, and Trenton for more than 25 years. He was a Past President of the Retired State Troopers Association. Following his retirement he became very active running many golf outings and dinners for Troop B. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with his grandsons, and also a member of St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna.
He was predeceased by his first wife Mary Frances Pallotta in 1989, son John Scott Pallotta in 1992, and his 2nd wife Jane Powers Pallotta in 2009. He is survived by his daughter Darlene (and Marty) Jasion of Hackettstown, his 2 brothers Nick (and Jean) Pallotta of Totawa, and Anthony (and Jueine) Pallotta of Wyckoff, 3 grandsons; Scott Taylor and Joey Taylor of Succasunna, and Nicholas Taylor of Dallas, TX.
Friends may visit at Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Monday from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, 10 AM, at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna, with the interment to follow at the Restland Memorial Park Cemetery in East Hanover. Donations may be made in his name to the N J State Police Fraternal Association, at stfa.org
