Hope Township, Mr. James “Jim” R Zellers, 76, died on March 10, 2014 at his home. He was born in Hackettstown and lived in Succasunna for most of his life before moving to Hope 17 years ago. He was a graduate of Dover High School and then served in the U S Navy on the USS Forrestal from 1957-1959. He was a Realtor in Succasunna for most of his life and former owner of Ye Olde Mill Shoppe in Flanders. He was also the Past President and member of the Roxbury Kiwanis Club and enjoyed photography, hunting, fishing, and cooking.

He was predeceased by his wife Sandy Long Zellers in 1990 and is survived by his daughter Veronica (and Frank) Stroessenreuther of Succasunna, son James Zellers of Hope, Kerry Long of Morristown, and Kenneth (and Samantha) Long of Blairstown. He loved and was so proud of his seven grandchildren; Michele, Brett, Allison, Elisabeth, Isabelle, Tiffani and Nyla and great grandson Matthew. He is also survived by his former wife Gail Zellers of Succasunna, his brother Richard (and Marney) Zellers of Florida, sister Joyce (and Victor) Amato of California, and brother Chuck (and Peggy) Zellers of Pennsylvania. He was also predeceased by his sister Marcia Cuva of Mine Hill, NJ.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday from 6 – 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 11 am at the Hillside Lutheran Brethren Church, with a family reception to follow at the Church.
