James R Lothian

Roxbury Township:  Mr. James Robert Lothian, 76, died on September 25, 2023 at the Morristown Medical Center. He was born in Newark and grew up in Irvington, graduating from Irvington High School. He moved to Succasunna 37 years ago. He served in the U S Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and later earned his BS in agriculture from Rutgers University. He became an economic development consultant for Fantus Consulting in Millburn/Florham Park/NYC, then moved to NJ Transit. He was a member of our Lady of the Lake Church in Mount Arlington from 1977 and St. Therese Church in Succasunna from 1986.  He was an avid skier, golfer, distance runner, and photographer, running his own photography business in his later years.  He was fond of going on cruises and to Maine with his wife.  He filled all the time he could with his family and in particular his lovely grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Susan Ann Lothian of nearly 50 years, and by his children; Amy Lothian with her husband, Konstantinos Teas of Texas and James Lothian with his wife Dana of Randolph.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Dimitri Teas, Ellie Lothian, Skye Lothian, and James (Jay) Lothian.  

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday, September 28th from 4 – 7  pm. The Funeral Liturgy will then be held on Saturday, September 30th at 10 am at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna, followed with Military Honors
