Roxbury Township, Mr. George J Gordon, 91, died on February 9, 2020 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover. He was born in Mt. Arlington and grew up in Wharton where he graduated from High School. He wintered in S. Pasadena, FL for 25 years and lived in Succasunna for 60 years. He served in the U S Marine Corps during the Korean War and became a Union Carpenter in the Dover Union for more than 30 years. He, and his wife Edith, were charter members of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Succasunna. He was also an avid gardener, and loved traveling, having been to all 50 States and 4 Continents.

He is survived by his wife Edith Gordon of 70 years, 3 children; Catherine (and Ken) French of Flanders, Paul (and Tracy) Gordon of Denville, and Karen (and Tim) Hays of Elmhurst, IL, 5 grandchildren; Sarah French, Gordon French, Laurel Hays, Eric Hays, and Ariana Hays, and 2 great grandchildren; Lucas French and Kaylee Hays Becker.

A Memorial service celebrating George’s life will be held on Monday, February 17th at 4:00 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 203 Eyland avenue, in Succasunna, New Jersey. A light dinner to follow.
