Gene A. Sutton, 75, of Ledgewood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 20, 2021 in Allentown, PA due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease. On May 10, 1975 he married Regina A. (Pittenger) Sutton to whom he was happily married for 46 years. Born in Newton, NJ Gene was a son of the late Donald and Estelle (McConnell) Sutton. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Gene worked as an HVAC supervisor for Honeywell and once he retired, he pursued his passions of substitute teaching in the Roxbury School District and umpiring throughout Morris County. He was an avid bowler, golfer, and baseball fan. Gene was highly involved in the little league and was a member of the PBA-pro bowlers association. Gene was always striving to reach his goals. He achieved his dreams of umpiring at the Big League Softball World Series in Kalamazoo, Michigan and scored a perfect 300 in bowling at Circle Lanes in Ledgewood. He loved to travel with his family and was dedicated to their happiness and well being.
Surviving with his loving wife Regina is his daughter: Sheila wife of Nick Parnell, all of Allentown, PA. Sisters: Alice Robinson, Dona Sutton, and Betty Sue Simmons. Gene was predeceased by his brother Ronald.
Services will be held at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ on Saturday June 12th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in his honor to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
