Forks Township (Easton), PA, Mrs. Elsbeth Louise Couch, 79, died on October 5, 2014 at home. She was born and raised in Glen Ridge, NJ and lived in Ledgewood for 35 years before moving to Forks Township 13 years ago. She was a homemaker and also worked in the Roxbury School system for 25 years and was at the same time a co-owner of the Panther Valley 7-11. She earned her degree from the Green Mountain College in VT and was member of the Succasunna United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Club for 48 years. She was an avid reader, loved embroidery and board games. She was also a Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother.
She was predeceased by her daughter Deborah A Couch (of Lawrenceville) who died on October 2, 2014. She is survived by her husband Richard Couch of 57 years, 3 children; Karen (and Brian) Eager of Bethlehem, PA, Richard (and Lisa) Couch II of Green Brook, and Barbara Couch Glosser of Hopatcong, 8 grandchildren; Carrie and Reilly Eager, Gregory, Christopher and Nicholas Couch, and Kristina, Samantha and C. J. Glosser. She is also survived by her brother, Howard (and Phyllis) Wright of Hillsborough, and her daughter-in-law Phyllis Warren of Lawrenceville.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Wednesday from 4 – 8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, 10 am, at Succasunna United Methodist Church, with the interment to follow at the Restland Memorial Park Cemetery in East Hanover.
