Roxbury Township, Mrs. Dorothy M Murray, 90, died on August 24, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. She was born and raised in the Drakestown area of Mt. Olive Township and lived in Ledgewood for nearly 70 years. She graduated from Drake Secretarial School in Newark.  She was a retired Executive Secretary at Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway Township where she met her husband, Arthur. 

During their life together, Dorothy and Arthur enjoyed traveling and took trips all over the world.  Dorothy was a member of the Stanhope United Methodist Church, Angels of the Glen and the church’s book club. Throughout her life she was an expert seamstress and quilter, creating many items which family members cherish. 

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur Joseph Murray in 1999, and by her brother Frederick McPeak in 2007. She is survived by her 2 nieces: Sandra M (and Jim) Julian of Budd Lake, NJ and Dr. Karin Dumont of New Hill, NC. 

There will be a celebration of her life at the Stanhope United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 17th at 12 noon.
