Roxbury Township, Mrs. Dorothy “Dotty” Evelyn DeGraaff, 84, died on October 2, 2022 at the Mt. Arlington Senior Living. She was born and raised in Jersey City. She later lived in Secaucus before moving to Roxbury Township in 1972. She was a graduate of Dickinson High School in Jersey City where she met her future husband, Robert DeGraaff.
Dorothy was a very active member of St. Therese R C Church and School. She was instrumental in the building of the new church and supported many church activities. She was the St. Therese School Secretary for more than 20 years where she was affectionately known as “mom” and the “lunch lady”.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert DeGraaff in 2015, and by her sister Anne Franco. She is survived by her 2 daughters; Doreen DeGraaff Markferding and her husband Kevin, and Denise Abney and her husband Todd. She also leaves her 4 grandchildren; Christopher (and Tiffany) Markferding, Kathryn (and C. J.) Witczak, Nicholas (and his fiancé Nicole Buhagiar) Markferding, and Allison Abney, and 3 great grandchildren; Dylon Markferding, Charlie Witczak, and Marissa Wear.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna, NJ Wednesday, October 5th, at 10 am, which will be live streamed through the St. Therese web site.
