Roxbury Township,   Mr. Donald R “Ducky” Best, 80, died peacefully at home, on April 11, 2011. He was born in Morristown and  lived most of his life in Kenvil.  He was a machinist at Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway Township and following his retirement he was a self employed contractor in the Morris County Area.  As a young man, he was an outstanding baseball player and he then served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., Post 5360, Newton.  He was a member of the Roxbury Township Senior Citizens Club and was an avid NY Jets and NY Mets fan.  Donald was an avid golfer and bowler.

 He was predeceased by his mother Vera  Bokofzer. His pride and joy was his family as he is survived by his wife Georgia L. (Maines) of 62 years,his sister Terry and his 3 children, Richard (and Nancy) of Tannersville, PA, Robert (and Linda) of Mount Olive Township, and Cindy (and Doug) of Stillwater, 9 grandchildren, Faith-Ann, Daniel, Ashley, Nicole, Valerie (and husband Rich), Matthew, Kelly (and husband Josh), Stacey, Kevin, and 6 great grandchildren.
