Mt. Olive Township, David R. Porter, 67, passed away peacefully at his home in Budd Lake on Sunday, September 10, 2023, with his loving wife of 38 years, Diane, by his side.

David was born in Detroit, Michigan, but spent his youth in Boonton, New Jersey. Prior to moving to Budd Lake, he and Diane made their home in Randolph, New Jersey. He began his career as an auto service manager, quickly and successfully advancing to Management, and ultimately spent the last 15 years as Director of Operations for Rt. 4 Auto Group in Paramus New Jersey. Dave was the ultimate “Car Guy”. He loved discussing all facets of the automotive industry and the latest dealer technology with associates and a multitude of friends.

David is survived by his wife Diane (née Toth), step-mother Carol Porter of Virginia, siblings Jill Albro, Summer Holiday & Bobby Murphy. He is pre-deceased by his parents Robert and Lee Porter. Other family members include Lois Miller, Gayle Miller and Paula Hockster.

He is remembered as a man who was as thoughtful and intelligent as he was a loving and caring provider.

In lieu of services, a Celebration of Life event is being planned for the near future
