Brandon Roland Garretson, aged 49, resident of Succasunna, NJ passed away on May 17, 2024. He was born in Summit, NJ on June 17, 1974 to Diana & Wayne Garretson, and grew up in Bernardsville, NJ. His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply.
Brandon had many passions; he loved to restore cars and motorcycles, he was a rail fan, a firearms enthusiast, he enjoyed leisurely motorcycle rides through the countryside, and he delighted in all things mechanical. He could often be found in his workshop, working on projects for his son, Logan, or his latest restoration project. He was a true craftsman, as evidenced by his ability to master anything that he took on, and his creativity knew no bounds.
He also loved researching and sharing his knowledge of local history. He enjoyed doing things for others, and was always willing to help a friend, neighbor, or even a stranger.
Brandon loved going to car shows, exploring local historic sites and hiking with his son, Logan. Brandon and Logan could often be found hiking an abandoned rail line, the trails of the Great Swamp, or admiring the birds at Raptor Trust.
Brandon was a true patriot, and proud to have a long career as a civilian contractor to Picatinny Arsenal. He was currently employed at his dream job, RDM Engineering, at the time of his passing. Brandon was a meticulous and dedicated worker, and there are many colleagues out there who will feel his absence.
Brandon is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Roth), his son, Logan, his parents, Diana and Wayne (his wife, Beth), and his brother Preston (Kristy) and children, Derek and Adam; brother Scott (Kristina); and brother Leland; parents-in-law, Judith and Michael Roth, and brother-in-law, Shawn Roth. There are many other friends and family too numerous to list, as he was loved by many.
Please join us on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 2pm to celebrate Brandon’s life with family and friends. All are welcome to share a treasured memory or favorite story.
