Roxbury Township, Mrs. Ann “Nancy” Waldron O’Connor, 72, died on November 24, 2012 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Ballyhaunis (County Mayo) Ireland in 1940 and was raised in a large family on a rural Irish farm. Her home in Derrymore was a source of many wonderful memories and stories. She came to the United States in 1957. She lived in the Bronx among a wave of new Irish immigrants where she met her husband Michael. They moved to Succasunna 43 years ago. A fabulous cook who could make a meal for a crowd of any size, she was always hosting parties for the Waldron clan. She was fiercely independent, beautiful and always proud of her Irish heritage. She loved country music, old movies and historical documentaries and will be remembered for her amazing memory, thoughtfulness and nurturing manner. She was always a true friend and loyal to those she loved.
She was a retired Manager for the Stull Engraving Company in Randolph and attended St. Therese Church in Succasunna. She spent the last eleven years of her life caring for her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She traveled to Boston and Chicago to visit them and welcomed several of them to her home every day.
She was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1998 and by her sisters; Mary Murphy and Margaret Casey. She is survived by her 3 children; Kristin (and Brian) Golden of Boston, Lauren (and Rich) Blaszak of Andover, and Stephen (and his fiancé Deborah Corey) O’Connor of Chicago.
