Wanda M Kielblock

Wanda Moore Kielblock passed away peacefully on June 29th 2019 at Morristown Medical Center.  She was 90 years old going on 29.

She lived her entire life in New Jersey, born January 6, 1929 in Newark to Andrew Budd and Julia Hoydich Moore, grew up the eldest of 3 girls in Gladstone and after her marriage to Carl F. Kielblock (Sonny) in 1949, she lived in Millington until 1969 and then on the farm in Meyersville, where her husband was born, for the remainder of her life.

She attended Bernards High School, received a Secretarial degree and worked as a telephone operator at Bell Laboratories.  Wanda wed the love of her life, Sonny, she took time off to raise their 5 children and run the household, drove a school bus for Dealaman Enterprises and then returned to AT&T to continue her career at BellCore where she was the international patent coordinator, responsible for filing its domestic and foreign patent applications.

Wanda was a cheerleader, played softball for the Grangerettes, enjoyed tennis and was an avid bridge, scrabble and cribbage player. She knitted many sweaters, canned the harvest from the farm, never stopped quilting and she loved mowing lawn and tending her beloved chickens. Her passion and what brought her joy throughout her whole life was dancing.  It is through the square dances at the Meyersville Grange that she met her husband, they danced through life together for 56 years and she was still showing off her moves at the recent weddings of her grandchildren.

Volunteer work included Den mother, the PTO, Bellcore’s Pioneers of America and the Visiting Nurses Rummage Sale in the Dry Goods Department for over 20 years.

She was a member of Meyersville Presbyterian Church for over 40 years where she was a Deacon, an Elder, the Church Financial Secretary and Treasurer for many years. Hosting coffee hour on the farm after Easter Dawn Services became a church tradition.

Her family will remember her as a loving, hard working wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother generously sharing her motherly advice, her undivided time and talents, and of course, her fresh eggs and plentiful apples to whoever came to visit. The grandchildren will especially remember dancing to ‘her music’ in the kitchen, sharing a bowl of rice krispies or butter pecan ice cream and offering instant iced tea that always had too much mix.

Wanda is predeceased by her husband of 56 years Carl Frederick Kielblock. She is survived by her 5 children; Carl Kielblock Jr., Tracy Wagner (Rob), Lark Beyer (Bill), Fritz A. Kielblock (Rosemarie), and Kelly Roshto (Guy), 12 grandchildren; Billy, Fox, Nicholas, Julie, Kristin, Fritz Jr., Casey, Melanie, Marshall, Hector, Sonny and Amy, 7 great grandchildren: Tobias, Jonas, Eli, Quinn, Isabelle, Fritz III and Liam and her 2 sisters: Rita Serdakowski and Joan Borriello (Ralph).

A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, August 10th, 2019 at Meyersville Presbyterian Church, 223 Hickory Tavern Rd, at 4pm.  Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in her name to Meyersville Presbyterian Church or Long Hill Township First Aid Squad.
