Roxbury Township,    Mrs. Shirley Lanterman Eklund, 89, died on June 28, 2011 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. She was born and raised in Morristown and was a 1939 graduate of Morristown High School. She was married to Lt. Carl G Eklund in 1942 and moved to Succasunna in 1947. She was an executive secretary at Warner-Lambert (now Pfizer) for 32 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Morristown Presbyterian Church, and an affiliate member of the Morristown United Methodist Church.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Raymond A Lanterman, 2 brothers; R Stanford and William Lanterman and 3 sisters; Doris Donaldson of CA, Muriel Ellison of Morris Plains, and Lenwilla Aselford of Milford, PA. She is survived by her husband Carl George Eklund, 2 sisters; Irma Patterson of Roseville, MN, and Joyce Vanderhoof of Mendham, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are by the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street Succasunna (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com. A private graveside service will be held at the Presbyterian Memorial Garden at a later date. Donations may be made in her name to the Morris Habitat for Humanity, the Dialysis Center of Northwest Jersey in Succasunna, or to the Memorial Fund of the Morristown Presbyterian Church.
