Margaret M Kistner

Margaret Mary Kistner, 93, of Martinsburg, West Virginia passed away on January 9, 2023. Margaret lived in Succasunna from 1964 to 1992 when she and husband Richard retired to Martinsburg West Virginia. Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Margaret and John Murphy.

She is survived by her children Joanie Kistner of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Ann Marie Caranfa (Michael) of Green Lane, PA, John Kistner of Summerfield FL, William Kistner (Andrea) of Long Valley, NJ and Brian Kistner of Netcong, NJ. She is also survived by sister Ann Hunt and brother Joseph Murphy. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Lawrence, sons Richard Michael and Robert Lawrence and brothers Timothy Murphy and Jack Murphy. Margaret was the proud grandmother of Julia and Maggie Kistner.

Margaret enjoyed family gatherings, painting ceramics, collecting angel figurines, watching old western movies along with baseball, football and sumo wrestling. She was most tolerant of the many pets that came into her household over the years and held a special affection for her golden retriever, Teko. Margaret and Richard enjoyed their retirement in Hedgesville West Virginia. Their 67th wedding anniversary would have been on January 14, 2023.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ, (973)-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Tuesday, January 17th,  from 8:30 – 9:30 am. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, 10 am, at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna, followed by the interment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
