Mt. Arlington, Mr. Kenneth J Smith, Sr., 75, died on March 4, 2020 at the Kindred Care Center in Dover. He was born in Boston, MA and grew up in Dorchester, Ma. He then lived in Morristown for many years before moving to Mt Arlington 42 years ago. He served in the U S Air Force during the Korean War. He was a professional Firefighter in Morristown for 26 years and then became a volunteer exempt fireman and former Fire Chief in Mt. Arlington for 15 more years.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Smith of 53 years, and his 3 children; Kenneth J, Jr. (and Romana) Smith of TN, and twin daughters; Denise M (and Ian) Chapman of S. Bound Brook, NJ and Kellie L (and Fernando) Rosario of VA. He also leaves his 12 grandchildren; Kayla, Billy, Alison, Linda, Kimberly, Vincent, Kevin, Timmy, Haley, James, Dylan, and Eric, 3 great grandchildren; Kaydence, Lydia, and Luther, sister Linda Smith Tarr, and brother Richard Smith. He was predeceased by his grandson David and brother Robert Smith.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Friday, March 6th, from 4 – 7 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 10 am, at the Funeral Home with the interment to follow at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery.
