East Stroudsburg, PA.    Mrs. Joan M Giacobe, 88, died on March 12, 2024, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in East Stroudsburg, PA. She was born and raised in Jersey City and later moved to Lyndhurst where she raised her family.   Upon retirement, she designed and built a house in East Stroudsburg where she enjoyed many years before moving in with her daughter and son in law, Susan and Peter.  She was primarily a homemaker, but previously was a school crossing guard and Secretary for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City.  She loved taking care of her family and also enjoyed gardening and spinning the slots at the casinos.

She was predeceased by her husband George Giacobe in 2004, and is survived by her 3 children Debra (and John) Manno of Mt. Arlington, NJ, Donald (and Lisa) Giacobe of Summerville, S.C., and Susan (and Peter) Howatson of East Stroudsburg, PA. She also leaves behind her brother George Stumpf of Hazlet, NJ and 6 grandchildren; Lori, Julie, Nicholas, Ashley, Amanda and Emily.  Also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
