Roxbury Township,   Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Tetz, 80, of Succasunna NJ passed away on September 24, 2016 at her home. She was born in Goshen New York, and was the daughter of Harold and Mildred Knapp and graduated Orange County College with a nursing degree.  She started her career at Morristown Memorial Hospital and worked as a registered nurse at Merry Heart Nursing Home for almost 50 years.  She was active in the community and a member of the Roxbury Women’s Club and the local DAR.  A world traveler, one of Joan’s greatest accomplishments was reaching Base Camp on Mt. Everest with Dr. Walt McConnell during his attempt at the summit in 1989.

Joan is survived by husband John Tetz, daughter and son-in-law Janet and Timothy McAuley, grandchildren Nathaniel and Margaret McAuley, and great grandchildren Connor, Caleb, and Katherine McAuley.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Saturday, October 1^st from 2 – 6 PM.  A later Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at 2 pm at the Funeral Home.
