Janice Rose Hayeck

Janice Rose Hayeck, nee Maddaloni of Succasunna, NJ, died February 8, 2025 at home after suffering a sudden heart attack. She was 56 years old.

Janice was born September 30, 1968, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, to former Rockaway NJ Mayor, the late Frank A. Maddaloni and his late wife, opera singer Adeline Maddaloni. The family moved to Rockaway, NJ, in 1970.

Janice attended St. Cecilia Grade School in Rockaway, where she was part of the “Oakland Avenue Crew, ” the “Our Gang” of White Meadow Lake. A dozen neighborhood kids who spent their days playing kickball, riding bikes, operating lemonade stands, even hosting mystery food taste tests, and always using their imagination.

Janice discovered her love for cooking when she spent a summer with her grandparents in Brooklyn in the early 80’s. While they may not have had air conditioning, they did have a large stove. That was where Nonnie taught Janice how to make the same meatballs and gravy, pasta fagioli, and braciole she would still make forty years later. Janice spoke fondly about that summer, calling it one of the best experiences of her life.

Janice graduated from Morris Catholic High School in 1986. She became a bookkeeper and manager for Delta Dental, and later managed the offices of Goodrich and Sherwood of Denville, NJ. At this job Janice would meet her soulmate in the form of a persistent photocopier salesman, the late Ronald A. Hayeck of Succasunna, NJ. Janice and Ron began a whirlwind romance, were engaged in three months, and married November, 1999.

In 2001, the overjoyed couple welcomed a son, Dylan Anthony Hayeck. In 2003, they were blessed with a daughter, Tori Rose Hayeck. In 2004, the young family began a tradition that would inspire their future: an annual trip to Walt Disney World. It was at “The Most Magical Place on Earth, ” that Janice and Ron were happiest, where their children would make memories that last a lifetime.

As a wife and mother, Janice shined. Always interested and involved, a Class Mom, Janice was present for every school event. Dance recitals, musicals, band competitions, concerts, Janice was always the loudest fan; truly a dedicated mother that lived for her children. Her infectious laugh could always be heard in the crowd, and her magnetic personality always kept things interesting. A lover of music, she collected Fleetwood Mac records with her father; she loved Stevie Nicks and Lady Gaga, and the fashions that came with each. Always in shape, and always done up, Janice enjoyed clothing, jewelry and presenting her best face to the world. Strong willed and independent, Janice was a warm, loving person that brought light and joy with her wherever she went.

In March, 2012, after the loss of her mother in law, Maryann Hayeck, Janice and husband Ron founded Mickey World Travel – a family run travel agency that connects other families with the memory making magic of Disney. Over the next decade, Mickey World Travel grew into one of the largest Disney Travel Agencies, being invited to join EMTAC, Disney’s advisory committee of the top 25 agencies, countrywide.

While the company grew, the family was affected by three terrible losses. In July 2016, Janice. lost her mother Adeline. In February 2020, her father, Frank Sr, and in May of that same year, her older brother Frankie. Knowing the importance of family and memories, Janice was always quick to share the stories and history of her life and family, and the lessons learned.

Tragedy struck again in June, 2023 when Janice’s husband Ron was diagnosed with stage four cancer. During this bleak period, Janice provided the strength and guidance necessary for her children to carry on in such darkness. Dylan and Tori became more involved in the management of the business, while treatment sidelined their father. Sadly, five months after diagnosis, Ron died November 22, 2023. He was 53.

Devastated and heartbroken from irredeemable loss, yet determined to preserve the family business, Janice worked tirelessly. The children took on more responsibility, handling the daily operations. In January 2025, the family celebrated, as Mickey World Travel’s 2024 was the best year in company history.

After 443 days apart, on February 8, 2025 Janice was reunited with Ron in Heaven. While we will miss the spark that Janice brought to our lives, we find solace that she is whole again, returned to her soulmate, together forever.

The family business, Mickey World Travel will continue on, helmed by Dylan and Tori, just as Janice and Ron always intended.

Janice is survived by: Her children, son Dylan Anthony Hayeck, daughter Tori Rose Hayeck, dogs Penny and Mickey of Succasunna, NJ.
