Randolph, NJ. Mrs. Theresa L Turpin, 92, died on May 3, 2024, during a six week stay in the rehabilitation unit at Holly Manor in Mendham. Despite her physical suffering and hearing loss, until her final day, she always inquired about the well-being of her children and grandchildren. She was born in Larksville, PA and lived there with her seven sisters. After she was married, she moved to New Jersey and raised her family in Dover and Victory Gardens. For the last seven years, she lived in Randolph with her daughter, son-in-law and grandsons. She was a hard-working mother and homemaker. She inspired her family with her work ethic, genuine thoughtfulness and endeared them by her playful wit. During the time that her children attended Sacred Heart School in Dover, she volunteered as a teacher’s aide and librarian. For a few years, in the 1950s, she worked at Prudential in Newark and in the late 1980s as an outpatient registrar at Dover General Hospital. From 1981 until her final days on earth, she devoted herself to helping to raise and care for her grandchildren Rosalynn, Jessica, Andrew, Christopher, Thomas and Ryan. She was also a member of St. Cyril Methodius R C Church in Boonton. Over the years, she reminisced about her special bond with her father and for this reason, her youngest daughter wished to bury her near her parents.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond L Turpin (of 69 years) in 2019 and is survived by her 5 children; Theresa (and Paul) Lacktis, Andrea (and Edward) Bem, Violet (and Alex) Tissot, Raymond J (and Kathleen) Turpin, and Paula (and Christopher Mark) Ortega. She also leaves her 10 grandchildren; Rosalynn, Jessica, Kathleen, Joseph, Andrew, Christopher, Gina, Emily, Thomas, and Ryan, and 5 great grandchildren; Emma, Autumn, Lilianna, Amber, and Lyla.
