Roxbury Township, Mrs. Sylvia M. Turner, died on January 24, 2013 at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Succasunna. She was born in New York City, and lived in Rockaway Township before moving to Succasunna 53 years ago. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Military order of the Purple Heart, Roxbury Women’s Club since 1959, past president of Roxbury P.T.A and AFS, elected member of Roxbury Twp. Republican Committee, and active member of St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna.
She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Frank J Turner, of 50 years, in 2001, and is survived by her 3 children; Christina Ward (David) of Hillsborough, NJ, Marc Turner (Denise) of Blairstown, NJ, and Larry Turner of Succasunna, NJ., and a grandson Matthew Balog. Also survived by her sister Alice Murphy of Park Ridge, 3 brothers George Robles of Bronx, NY, Robert Robles of River Vale, Marc Robles of Olympia, WA, brother in law, Edward Luttati of Dumont, and many nieces of nephews.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Sunday from 2-6 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, 10 am, at St. Therese RC Church. The interment will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice in Newton.
