Susan A. Dodd, 68, of Succasunna, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Susan was born on July 23, 1957, in Brooklyn, NY, where she lived until her early teens. As a teenager, her family moved to Lake Telemark, NJ, where she remained until marrying her husband, Joseph. In 1986, they settled in Succasunna, NJ, where they have lived ever since.
She is predeceased by her beloved son, Gregory Dodd; her parents, Franklyn and Lillian Fisk; and her sister-in-law, Dolores Limpert.
Susan is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Dodd; her daughter and son-in-law, Jaclyn and George McGrath; and her cherished grandson, Conrad McGrath. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Margaret Fisk; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Kuffel and Patricia Ryan; and her aunt and uncle, Nancy and Norman Ambjor. She leaves behind a large extended family of treasured cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children, all of whom will miss her dearly.
In her spare time, Susan loved collecting and arranging miniature villages—especially during the holidays—as well as beautiful Jim Shore figurines. She had a special fondness for hunting sea glass, particularly in Cape May, NJ, her “happy place.” Known for her quick wit and sarcastic humor, Susan brought laughter wherever she went. She rarely turned down a glass of chardonnay and never hesitated to turn up the music and dance.
An avid traveler, Susan explored many parts of the United States, proudly collecting Junior Park Ranger badges from National Parks along the way.
Susan’s vibrant spirit, humor, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends once available.
Arrangements are by the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ, 973-584-7264.
