Roxbury Township, Mrs. Shirley A Moffit, 81, died on December 9, 2016 at the Morristown Medical Center. She was born and raised in Rockaway Borough, and then lived in Morristown before moving to Succasunna in 1967. After graduating Rockaway High School in 1953, Shirley graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, in Brooklyn, NY in 1956. She was a Registered Nurse at Morristown Medical Center and later worked for Dr. Najarian and Dr. Gudis in Randolph.

She was pre deceased by her husband of 43 years Alfred E. Moffit Jr. in 2009, brother John “Stanley” Howell in 1990, and sister Barbara Compitello in 2010. She is survived by her 2 sons Alfred E. Moffit III, and his wife Pam Mason of Rockaway, David B. Moffit, and his wife Shawn (Hankins), and 3 Grandchildren, Gavin, Ava, and Leonard.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Tuesday 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, 10 am, at the Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at the Fairmont Cemetery in Califon. Donations may be made in her name to Make a Wish Foundation, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
